Donovan’s Family

DeLaine Wagner Fairchild, aka “Aunty Laine:” chic, southern grande dame.  Loaded.  (Both financially and on Manhattans.)

Britany Ford: Donovan’s artistic, free spirited sister.

Charles Williams: Britany’s tory fiance, a professor of management at Emory University.

Olivia Robideau: Okay, technically not really family any more.  Donovan’s ex-wife and agent.

The Denizens of the Highlandhurst

Rachel Abernathy: Apartment 3B.  Proprietor of Ponce Pages.  In her own words, she’s “just a typical girl living intown.  Sort of a black That Girl.”   

Christopher Diaz: Apartment 3A.  Cute, gay, Cuban Delta flight attendant who is low maintenance.  (In much the same way a Fiat is low maintenance.)

Jennifer Matheny: Apartment 2B.  Bartender at Fountaine’s.  Sort of a generic, rocker-girl type.  Total party waiting to happen. 

Clare & Mac O’Toole: Apartment 2A.  The prototypical highlands couple. Relatively well educated.  Slightly left politically, way left socially.

Mr. Kersey: Apartment 1B.  At least, we assume he’s still in there.  No one has seen him come in or go out in the last nine years.

Other Residents of the Highlands

Talbot Van Hessel: Local wine distributer.  She’s a different breed of southern woman: one who can dispense with the feminine wiles when she needs to.  She can hold her own with the boys.
